Families United in Necessity & Dignity (FUND) is a group of houseless families in need that HAND is uplifting and empowering to be the change needed to support the over 404 families (850 parents and children!!!) on the WAITLIST for immediate emergency family shelter.

Over the last few weeks, ever since the City kicked over 200 families out of emergency cold weather shelter when the temperature dipped 1 degree below threshold, FUND has been diligently speaking out for their children to have somewhere safe and warm to sleep at night – whether it’s at the Mayor’s office, City Council, or the Department of Housing & Stability (HOST). We have been able to temporarily support 11 of these families in hotel shelter, but we are rapidly being connected to more families with babies in need – 3 more just this weekend!! To sustain support, and provide funding to end houselessness for certain applicable cases, please keep this fund full!! As of right now, HAND is over $1000 over-budget because we couldn’t let these families have nowhere to go… JOIN US in the continued fight for their safety and dignity!

The Mayor’s office TOLD US DIRECTLY that the City cannot solve this crisis – that it is up to HAND and the COMMUNITY to make sure babies don’t sleep on our streets. We will keep pushing them to find their morality, but until then,
