For the past 3 years, Rodeway has provided safe, secure, dignified hotel shelter for over 70 women/trans/queer houseless people, most of whom are domestic violence & sexual assault survivors.
Now (ironically) Rodeway’s property owner @denverhousingauthority suddenly announced this summer that they will sell the building for profit – discounting the residents’ lives & ensuring their return to life-threatening instability.
Over the next week we’ll publish photos telling the story of residents. Some portray their faces, others show no face.
Day 1:
“I am at Rodeway because… I am homeless and trauma survivor
Was told I could stay till housing
Safe place First place I could call Home”
