Houseless people spoke of going through multiple case managers and never getting housing, of being offered all kinds of services all except housing, or being told it would be a year wait to get a case manager, and endless other struggles being houseless in this system.
Case Managers spoke of being thrown into the job with no training, being forced to work without time off even after grieving the loss of multiple houseless people they serve, of being given no resources for those who need them, or being silenced by the agencies they work for, being forced to police more than to care, and endless other issues with this case management system.
We know this system is not working – Housing must be made available for all! Together we stand on these experiences and fight for what we know our community needs.
