This is the voices of over 1000 houseless people giving direction on what the housing is we must be fighting for!! This report shows plain as day that houseless people want housing with autonomy, freedom for your community in your home, privacy, climate control, bathrooms, and other elements of a home that any human deserves. It shows plain as day that most houseless people can pay something for housing but that the price of housing does not match up with what people can pay. The federal and local trend of funding housing through the private market and not public housing makes housing more unaffordable – any solution to houselessness must create housing our community can actually afford or it is not a solution. 

As our city proposes “new solutions” to houselessness, look to these voices and ask “are these solutions what houseless people actually want and need?”   Read this report. Share it. Make the voices of these 1000 houseless people heard!
