During the closure of Quality Inn, where elderly and disabled residents were being kicked to the streets and shelters, we put out a GoFundMe and the community responded by donating a total of $11,299.00!!! We used this money to put 13 people up in hotels for some weeks, to get storage for residents, and much more. We wanted to share exactly what we spent this community donated money on! This document attached shows all the spending, both from our bank and from personal accounts, from the Quality Inn GoFundMe donations.
We over spent beyond the donated money by $130. If anyone wants to donate to our PayPal to help cover these expenses and ongoing support of displaced Quality Inn residents please do!
In the end, this money was fundamental in securing long term hotel accommodations for the 13 people we directly paid for, plus others we helped advocate for as part of this. This work was fundamental in reducing those kicked to the streets from 80 as was gonna be the case at the beginning of the week, to 35 as was the case in the end. Thank you sooooo much to the community for stepping up to support during this brutal and unnecessary hotel shutdown.
