December 10, 2020 by Jonathan Leave a Comment

Dear Officers, Members and Supporters of the National Union of the Homeless, the Abahlali (Shackdwellers Movement) of South Africa and the Western Regional Advocacy Project:

On December 23, 2020, the National Union of the Homeless will host an International Online Forum to honor the Abahlali baseMjondolo (South Africa Shackdwellers Movement) and the Western Regional Advocacy Project, (“WRAP”) of the United States. This year, both organizations are celebrating 15 years of organizing, advocating and educating the global struggle of the unhoused.

We ask you all to please see and widely share the “Save the Date” announcements attached hereto, mark your calendars and plan to join us for this important event. Look for follow-up notices with more details about the event as well as exciting videos and written materials describing the history and vital current work of  Abahlali,  WRAP and the National Union of the Homeless.

Thanks and hope to see you on December 23!

For the National Union of the Homeless,

Anthony Prince, Lead Organizer and General Counsel

Kristin Colangelo, National Organizational Secretary and Membership Director

WRAP was founded in 2005 by local social justice organizations across the West to bring about real systemic change. We are building a multi-issue, multi-racial and social justice-based coalition which brings organizations together across the local–national divide, thus giving us the strength and experience to make ending poverty and homelessness a national priority. https://conta.cc/3XD5QK9
