This Tuesday at 2pm, the City Council’s Public Safety Committee will be discussing a horrible motion that aims to expand the ways the police can target and criminalize people on public property using LA Municipal Code 41.18, whether they are houseless or not!
Can you take less than a minute to send the 1-click email here? Our friends on the westside helped put together this quick snf easy email action. This expansion of enforcement of LAMC 41.18 would negatively impact every part of the City, with our neighborhood being impacted heavily by expanded policing/enforcement.
We’re hoping to get 50 LA CAN members to send this email today or tomorrow. If you’re able to do it, please let me know! There are a couple additional ways to plug in this week including using this toolkit and also to attend the meeting with us at City Hall Tuesday at 2pm and give public comment!
