San Francisco, CA. Protect OCOH Housing Fund!

June 17, 2025 by Jonathan Leave a Comment

Hey everyone, here is a link to a sign on letter from CBOs urging Mayor and BOS to protect Prop C housing.

Things are coming to a critical juncture and we need you help.

Please sign by end of day Wednesday June 18th!

The letter reads:

We the undersigned homeless and housing providers urge the Mayor and Board of Supervisors to protect housing and prevention funds in Prop C Our City Our Home. We call on policy makers to restore the critical $30m in family housing subsidies, $10m in youth housing subsidies and $1m in Bayview subsidies and ensure unencumbered housing and prevention funds remain in place so families and youth get the housing opportunities they deserve. In addition, please keep the categories in place, and only move dollars with a supermajority of the board by limiting the ordinance to one year of funding.

We need investments in housing solutions so that more than the current 13% of people struggling in shelter can move out into housing, leaving homelessness behind. We also must ensure funding is equitable so hidden members of the unhoused community, such as youth and families, have an opportunity to thrive.

The fund has enough in year one to cover both the Mayor’s and the people’s priorities without cutting unencumbered housing funds and moving them over to shelter.

Go to link above to sign on — again we need orgs to sign by end of day Wednesday!!!

Thanks!

People-Powered Change Wins They say “the revolutio People-Powered Change Wins
They say “the revolution will not be funded.” And it’s true. Those in power currently rely on vast amounts of money to orchestrate their influence. We are organizing more and more PEOPLE into this movement to bring down systemic oppression and build a more just society. We are inherently PEOPLE-POWERED.
