More call logs from families who called the Connection Center seeking shelter – one family called 493 times, another 375, another 236, and another 111.

Families are told to call the Connection Center to get shelter, but when they call no one answers and the message says to keep calling to get ahold of staff. There is no physical location families are directed to go to seek shelter – just call the Connection Center.
The Connection Center is run by the Salvation Army. The same agency that runs many of the All In hotel shelter sites. Families are calling and calling with no answer while meanwhile staff sit at All In site doing pretty much nothing (maybe have these staff answer some of these calls?!?)
Additionally, some of these families spoke at City Council and were told by HOST outreach workers and Denver’s shelter director that they’d see solutions – only to later on be told that not even the outreach workers were able to get a hold of the Connection Center, and the shelter director still just deferred to them… This was wrong and misleading, since the City claims these families were helped but they’re in the exact same place they started…
This is not ok!@# Children are on our streets because there is no staff to answer the phone!@$ We need action NOW!
