The Black Hair & Black Hygiene Project’s Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Day of Service

Date: Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 1:00PM—3:30PM

Where: The Black Parallel School Board’s Office, 4625 44th Street, Rm 5, Sacramento, CA. 95820

What: The Black Hair & Black Hygiene Project will host a “Day of Service” in Commemoration of Dr. King’s Legacy

We are seeking donations of travel-size personal hygiene items, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, sanitizers, lotions, soap, shampoos, shaving razors, and hand warmers.

We also seek winter clothing items: Bennie hats, gloves, warm scarves, sweatshirts, socks, and new blankets. Additionally, we are seeking new and gently used belts, jeans for men and women and heavy-duty tarps to distribute along with warm clothing and hygiene items.

Please bring your donation and join us on Saturday, January 25, from 1:00pm- 3:30PM. During the Day of Service “Work Session,” we will sort and assemble packages of hygiene items and winter clothing items. These packages will be distributed to our unhoused community members at local programs and encampments throughout Sacramento.
