BACKGROUND

Councilmember Traci Park has put forth a motion to create nine  41.18 zones criminalizing homelessness in CD11, including coastal areas. Sweeping unhoused Angelenos from one location to another does nothing to solve homelessness. It exacerbates the problem, making it harder to connect people to services and housing.

Council File 23-4118-S1 seeks to enforce LAMC 41.18 in the zones listed below. Zones in bold are within the Coastal Zone. Click here to see a map of the 41.18 zones across the City of LA, including these proposed zones.
