After sending our letter to Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) asking that Quality Inn stay be extended to the end of year and the time be used to secure housing for all residents, we received a response from John Parvensky, president of CCH.
In essence CCH says they are not extending the stay and again tell residents to go to shelters – as if they never heard residents say loud and clear they cannot and will not go to shelters.
See CCH’s response letter and our response to their response letter attached.
The fight for housing for Quality Inn residents is not over. We are working with residents to help in their housing search. We will continue to push forward the proposed solutions HAND and residents came up with to secure housing for Quality Inn residents who are getting kicked to the shelter/streets and with residents of the other protective action hotels facing being kicked to the streets at the end of this year.
Thank you to the following organizations who signed on to the letter to CCH asking for the extension and for housing to be secured!!
Colorado Cross Disability Coalition
Denver Democratic Socialists of America
Empowerment Program
Harm Reduction Action Center
Mutual Aid Monday
Warm Cookies of the Revolution
