Denver, CO. Housekeys Action Network Denver E-Updates! Starting into Action…!!

March 1, 2022 by Jonathan Leave a Comment

Hello Community!

Welcome to the Housekeys Action Network Denver (HAND) e-updates! You are receiving this email because we thought you might want to receive updates from HAND about the fight for housing for all! If you do not want to receive these weekly/periodic emails from HAND please reply saying so and we will remove you from this list. Otherwise we will keep giving you updates!

Housekeys Action Network Denver is just kicking off to build the fight for housing from the priorities of houseless people. Housing development and policies should be directed by people who need that housing. To this end our first work is to hit the streets, the shelters, the formerly-homeless housing sites, with the Housing Outreach Survey — created by HAND together with Western Regional Advocacy Project (WRAP) — to gather input, information, and expertise from people who are or were houseless. This survey will be used to direct our work to fight for housing for all!

We will be out on outreach with the Housing Survey starting March 7th. A team of houseless and formerly houseless people will be conducting the survey. We will also have community survey days where we will invite all of you to join us in surveying.

We will hold HAND Housing Outreach Work Group meetings every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 1420 Ogden St Denver CO. If you want to get more involved in this work you are welcome to come join the work! If you are houseless or have been houseless we especially want you to come!

HAND’s work is to fight for housing as a human right – not a commodity for the rich – and to fight for housing as directed by the priorities of people who need that housing. We do not do this alone – we do this together as we make the voice of all without housing, who have been without housing, and who may be without housing heard!

Onwards towards Rights, Dignity, and Housing…

WRAP was founded in 2005 by local social justice organizations across the West to bring about real systemic change. We are building a multi-issue, multi-racial and social justice-based coalition which brings organizations together across the local–national divide, thus giving us the strength and experience to make ending poverty and homelessness a national priority. https://conta.cc/3XD5QK9
