Los Angeles, CA. Freedom Now 2020 – Your Pete White INVITE

November 11, 2020 by Jonathan Leave a Comment

I have great news to share with you!

This is your official “Pete White” invite to Freedom Now, LA CAN’s free virtual Fundraiser hosted by Kamau Bell (CNN host of United Shades of America), Melina Abdullah and Pete White with special musical performances.

On Saturday, November 21, 2020, from 5 – 6 pm we will honor our dear friends Patrisse Cullors, BLM Co-founder, Norman and Tricia Tuck with special recognition to Anne Archer and Artists for Human Rights for their Covid19 Rapid Response. Our 2020 Honorees continue the tradition of bringing together the most powerful thought leaders, activists, philanthropic partners and artists to celebrate all of the amazing work they’ve done to ensure equity and justice in Los Angeles.

We’ll be partnering with radical leaders in thought and action to raise money for our daring project that will provide economically sustainable, dignified housing to LA’s growing unhoused population. We were tired of the bureaucracy, so we started doing it ourselves. Help us reach our ambitious goal to raise $1,000,000 which will provide much needed housing relief,  continue the fight against racial injustice and make immediate and meaningful change to lives that do matter by ensuring the health, safety and inclusion of unhoused, low-income, Black and Brown Angelenos.

We have been building community, leadership and power for over 20 years – but this year we raised the bar with our racial justice work, responding to the disparities and organized abandonment illuminated by the Covid19 pandemic.  None of this would have been possible without your rock-steady solidarity and consistent investment into our work. “Freedom Now” would be incomplete without your participation.

“Freedom Now” is an opportunity to hold and uplift the coming together of communities and I would love to share this celebratory moment with you. You just never know who might show up at an LA CAN event and this year is set to be the most exciting yet – please say that you are coming.

Register to attend Freedom Now. It’s free. Donations are welcome. https://cangress.org/freedomnow

Your sponsorship is pivotal in helping us reach our goal (sponsorship package is attached). If you have any questions about the event, do not hesitate to contact Stasi at anastasia@cangress.org  – you can of course call (213) 228-0024 for additional information.

Kindest Regards,

-Pete
