U.N. Rapporteur On Extreme Poverty & Human Rights Community Meetings in LA & SF

November 29, 2017 by Jonathan Leave a Comment

The U.N. Rapporteur On Extreme Poverty & Human Rights will be hearing from groups and individuals in the Bay Area and LA directly, on the myriad of issues we all face living in a country where the best interests of corporations and the wealthy far exceed the best interests of the people. In addition, we will talk about how the privatization of public space and the criminalization of our communities are used as tools to suppress us, to beat us down and to try and intimidate us.

Panels and an open mic from groups fighting back and building power will speak to our communities’ strengths and celebrate our humanity!

The recent decision by the Denver City Council not The recent decision by the Denver City Council not to fund shelters for unhoused families has significant implications for the community. This action not only jeopardizes the safety of vulnerable children but also raises critical questions about local governance and social responsibility. We must advocate for housing justice and support policies that protect the rights of all community members. #HousingJustice #CommunityAdvocacy #SocialResponsibility #Denver #Unhoused
