Remember that hail storm on Monday May 8th?? Did you find somewhere to stay dry…or get dry after the fact?? Well a bunch of people living outside did not. A number of survival camps along the river were flooded out that day and much of their gear was destroyed or damaged or just won’t dry. These folks – at least 20 plus people – could really use some sleeping bags, tents, tarps, blankets, cloths, and socks.
If anyone has these items to donate bring them by our office 2260 California St Denver CO 80205 any Monday – Friday between 2 and 5pm; call us at 720-940-5291; or email us at info@denverhomelessoutloud.org.
Almost all of those staying far out on the river have been push there due to the police sweeps over the past year. This is just one of the effects of the sweeps…pushing folks to places far out where flooding is likely.
