Over 120 Orgs and Leaders Respond to Homeless “State of Emergency” – Join Us at 10/27 Town Hall
Last week, we shared an open letter to Mayor Garcetti and the LA City Council regarding the recent homeless “state of emergency” declaration. Over 120 organizations and civic leaders β representative of the social, professional, racial, and religious diversity of Los Angeles β signed on to the letter, which calls for an end to the criminalization of homeless residents in favor of identifying long-term, sustained resources that primarily goes to new permanent supportive housing units (see the full letter HERE for the full list of demands).
We will be convening all the letter endorsing organizations and individuals on Tuesday, October 27 from 6pm to 8pm at Bethel AME Church (7900 S. Western Ave. 90047) to strategize and create a plan on how we can move City Council to action on our 3 immediate recommendations in the letter. Email Eric (erica@cangress.org) to RSVP.
