BREAKING: Judge Orrick has extended the Temporary Restraining Order for Wood Street because the City of Oakland’s cabin site is not actually ready for people to move in, as they indicated during the Feb 3 court hearing. The TRO is in effect until “adequate shelter beds” are available.
The city only has 24 cabins on site today, many of which are singles (as opposed to the traditional 2 person cabin). The site’s first phase is supposed to house at least 50 people, but progress has been slow.
Huge thank you to @caron_v2.mp4 for the reporting!
