Denver, CO. Encampment Hosts Potluck for Denver’s Decade of Doom 

On Wednesday May 11th, 2022, residents of an encampment originally located at 21st & Champa will host a community potluck. Unfortunately, the city of Denver posted notice of a sweep happening on the very morning of our planned community event. Because of this, we will still be meeting at 21st & Champa day-of the sweep at 4:30pm, but will march a few blocks down to the new encampment location, recognizing the displacement and retraumatization caused by such sweeps. Residents of this encampment will then educate housed community members who have never lived outside about living without housing at encampments in Denver. It will be time for community gathering and food. If you are able, please bring a dish to share. We will also be making signs for the Denver Decade of Doom Rally and March on Saturday so bring cardboard and markers if you can too.
