Denver, CO. You Can Help Recognize Denver’s Decade of Doom – Donations and Volunteers Needed

May 5, 2022 by Jonathan Leave a Comment

Next week will be the 10 year anniversary of Denver’s Camping Ban. From May 8th to May 14th the community will be grieving these past 10 years and taking action to call for an end to this law. See the full week of events and actions attached.

With this week of action just around the corner we can use your help to pull this all off! Below are some ways you can help:

Be a driver – help pick up houseless people who want to come and need a ride on Monday, Friday, or Saturday

Be a food server – help serve food at the rally on Saturday

Be a service or fun giver – bring a set up to do porterates, play corn hole, help with legal paperwork, whatever you can contribute to the community and the event

Be a sign artist – make signs about the horrors of the Survival Ban to bring for the march on Saturday

Be a promoter – spread the word and invite folks to the events

Donate tents and sleeping bags – for houseless people in need coming to the events

Donate money – to help buy tents, sleeping bags, print zines, and other needs for the week of action (paypal link is here https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=HHEMK4XX5UAM2)

Show up and help make our collective voice heard!!

If you can help with any of these things please let us know by emailing info@housekeysactionnetwork.com or call us at 701-484-2634.

See you next week!

In this webinar, we will discuss the implications In this webinar, we will discuss the implications of these encampments as a “service,” namely how they will and are being used to sweep and warehouse unhoused people on the streets, and how they are part of a larger trend whereby local governments fabricate and formalize “service resistance” in order to continue the criminalization of homelessness under Martin v. Boise.
