Cal Trans Eviction: 6am, Tuesday Morning
Cal Trans is moving to evict encampments that have been sheltering in the underpass since the start of the pandemic on Tuesday, July 6th starting at 6am.
Cal Trans, in conjunction with the City of San Rafael, have created an internment camp at the north end of the underpass. The fenced in area requires camping moving in to live in identical blue tents.
That doesn’t sit right with Chrystal, who goes by Mother Tigress among campers in the underpass. She has built a “Tee Pee Temple”, that is a colorful artistic community space where she hosts a weekly coffee with the Marin Interfaith Street Chaplaincy.
“This is my church, this my culture” Chrystal “on Tuesday I need people to come and link hands around our church.”
She is also a displaced anchor out who had her home crushed by the Richardson Bay Regional Agency, which continues to claim it does not crush boats in-spite of the growing evidence. Now, Chrystal is asking people to link arms around her church on Tuesday morning to shine a light on the human rights violations of Cal Trans and City of San Rafael.
“You may crush our Tee Pee, but you can’t crush our spirit” Chrystal said
