Summary of Project
Community partners are coming together at the Social Justice Action Center (SJAC) to host a hygiene station to support the unhoused community during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the pandemic has greatly reduced public restroom availability, many are left with few options to wash their hands, use the restroom and carry out basic hygiene needs. The hygiene station at SJAC would provide needed community hygiene resources including an outdoor hand washing station, bathroom access and facilitate informational flyers and PPE distribution. Members of the unhoused community will be compensated for their time maintaining the space, providing a modest supplemental income for community members during a time of economic crisis.
