WE WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS INHUMANITY: Sweep Planned for 22nd and Champa August 25th; and Stout, Park Ave, and California August 26th | Be there 5:30am
The City is planning to sweep about 200 people living at camps along 22nd, Champa, Curtis, Stout, Park Ave and California on August 25th, and 26th 2020. This is the very same camp the residents and community stopped from being swept in June. Since then, residents of these camps have not been offered housing they can afford. And more folks have landed on the streets at this very camp due to COVID economy and eviction.
So where does the city expect all these people to move?? They cannot force people into shelter warehousing as if they are jails. The city has no answer for where folks can move – so we will not let them move people along to nowhere…
Mark your calendar for August 25th, and 26th early in the morning…like 5:30am… Be there.
