Motion Filed Today for Hearing in Case for Housing
Read Full Motion Here >>>>>>
On April 1st 2020 we filed a Writ of Mandamus to mandate Colorado Dep’t of Public Health do their job and open housing for people who are houseless.
Some Colorado motel owners have offered housing for homeless people in response to this emergency, but local authorities have prevented them from making it available. At the same time, cities like Denver that are trying like mad to get hotel’s to take in houseless residents and hotels are refusing. A statewide order from the Colorado Dep’t of Public Health is essential to stop the spread and retransmission of this deadly virus and to prevent a Public Health Disaster in the State. We have been working in good faith with the Attorney General and representatives of the Colorado Department of Public Health for the last two weeks, but are now seeking an immediate hearing with the Court. See Motion filed this morning, 4/17.
Everyone needs housing. Now and always.
