You can be a Petitioner for the Right to Survive! Come to the Ballot Initiative Petitioner Training

April 3, 2018 by Jonathan Leave a Comment

Saturday April 7th, 11am-1pm
Denver Homeless Out Loud Office
2260 California St Denver CO 80205. (the lavender building at the corner of California and Park Avenue West)

The time has come! We are really running a ballot initiative to be voted on by the people of Denver to protect our human Right to Survive!! And you can be part of this!! Become a Certified Petitioner on April 7th.

We need people to help gather petition signatures between April and the end of June. But this is not for just anyone… If you are interested in helping do this, consider first if you have the time to commit – at least 25 hours – between April and the end of June to getting out in the community and getting signatures. We are looking for folks who are able and down to get a bunch of signatures early in the game so that we can be more effective in getting this done! We’ll help you if you’ve never done this before, by suggesting good locations and events, and pairing you with experienced signature gatherers. A smile is the best attribute you can have to get signatures, and attention to detail helps a lot. Come to the training even if you are not sure…but especially if you are sure you can do this thang!

So please come! Saturday April 7th. Learn the legal requirements for signature gathering, possibly get your petition sections, and learn more about what the Right to Survive Initiative will do for the people of Denver!!

Please RSVP to Dianne Thiel at aglee668@indra.com, or 303 692-0684 so we have enough materials for everyone.

Other ways to help: Even if you can’t be a Petitioner you can join the work for the Right to Survive. Organizer meetings are help on Tuesday’s at 3:15pm at DHOL office. You can also help by hosting educational forums, sharing posts on social media, and many more ways! Let us know how you want to help.

The Right to Sleep, Sit, Use Cover, Eat, Sleep in a Vehicle, and otherwise survive.

Onward…

We could write a whole article on the shit storm that has hit at the federal level and then reel off reactionary oppressive measures that local and state governments are imposing in response to the massive numbers of people they know damn well are going to be dying, suffering, hurting, living in the streets — and be mad as hell. https://conta.cc/4iWZe2j
