San Diego — The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit against the city of San Diego, its police department and city officials Wednesday alleging city workers destroyed property belonging to the homeless in a series of raids.
The man who led the nation’s homelessness policy for seven years and trumpeted groundbreaking initiatives in San Francisco stood on a street corner the other day confronting the evidence, in the flesh, that the problem is far from solved.
BOISE, Idaho - Seven homeless Boise residents are suing the city and the police department, saying that rules against camping in public spaces amount to cruel and unusual punishment in a city where homeless shelters are overflowing.
